Several times this week God's brought about a message of encouragement for times when tensions rise as breakthrough approaches. He's been reminding me that we have to hold on when we want to give up because He'll always show up. The greater the struggle, the greater the Glory He receives when He delivers on His promises! Hold fast and don't give up! Here's more on what He showed me:
- Just like a bow preparing to launch an arrow, tension increases before the release. For us, things can tend to become hardest just before breakthrough comes. When your struggle is pulling you backward, choose to see that this is the place where Power and momentum are gained. Resistance builds strength and it's from strength to strength that we keep moving until we see God.
- Remember that God is staging purposeful movement toward a target. You may need to endure some stretching and pulling to be propelled into what He has in store.
- Your job is to keep your eyes on the vision. Don't look to the left or the right and get distracted. If you take your eyes of the target, you'll miss what God has in store.
I was reading Psalm 84:5-7 and God showed me this clear picture of the Christian mindset. We are on a pilgrimage to God in Heaven. Along the way we know we'll face sorrow, struggle, pain, and resistance. Because we are focused on the Promise, we let our tears become a spring of fresh water to quench the thirst of many. We leverage the process of struggle to become stronger and provide strength for others until that day when we stand face to face with our Maker and Savior.
